New Moon casting news! Actor Michael Sheen who started in The Queen and Frost/Nixon, is set to take on the role of the vampire Aro in Twilight's sequel, New Moon.
Sheen will be joining the entire Twilight cast, including Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and of course, Dakota Fanning.
Sheen will play Aro, the leader of the ancient sect in Italy called the Volturi.
New Moon Director Chris Weitz said about Sheen:
"Michael’s role is so important because he’s the head of all vampires," he said. "Aro is, on the surface, a very gracious and friendly vampire, but beneath that he is a tremendous threat."
Sheen is also reportedly collecting a massive payday for his work on New Moon.
