'Hope For Haiti Now' Telethon Raises $57 Million

Because of the generous donations that were received during the star-studded "Hope for Haiti Now" telethon, which took place on January 22nd (Friday), a record-setting $57 million was raised - and this enormous figure still continues to rise.

The event was hosted by George Clooney in LA, Haiti native Wyclef Jean in New York, Robert Pattinson in England and featured reports from Anderson Cooper in Haiti.

There was an A-list ensemble manning the phone lines, taking calls from those who wanted to donate. Musical performers for the event included Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Bono, Jay-Z, Rihanna, Sting, Jennifer Hudson, Sheryl Crow, Kid Rock, Keith Urban, Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, John Legend, and Shakira. Their performances are now available for purchase on iTunes.

If you'd like to make a donation, you can STILL donate by calling 1-877-99-HAITI or texting “GIVE” to 50555 ($10 will be given to the Red Cross and billed to your service provider) or visit HopeForHaitiNow.org.
