What's left for Twilight fans in 2010? The Twilight Examiner asked this great question and pondered a few ideas as to what we fans can expect now that the third installment of the Saga has been released and we have over a year until the release of Breaking Dawn Part 1.
Well, for one, we'll definitely continue to hear more news about Breaking Dawn as production gets underway - I'm excited to hear about new casting and more details about locations! (Did you see our recent post about Brazil wanting production to come to Rio de Janeiro?) And let's not forget about Stephenie Meyer's non-Twilight project, The Host, that has yet to begin production.
We've also got The Twilight Saga: Eclipse DVD to look forward to. Twilight Examiner notes "Additionally, the turn-around rates for Twilight and The Twilight Saga: New Moon from theater to DVD were about four months (November to March). If The Twilight Saga: Eclipse follows suit, it'll probably receive a DVD release date somewhere around the end of October or early November. Twilight DVD releases are always an event in themselves (what with parties, TV spots, etc.), so that should re-invigorate things around that time period."
They'll be midnight release parties galore when the DVD hits shelves later this year!
And we can't forget about The Official Twilight Convention that has more city stops to make until the end of the year. Be sure and check out http://www.twilightconvention.com/ for cities they'll visit for 2011.

I was thinking about the DVD release the other day & was thinking they may release it early because Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows is being released in November & that's huge! Not saying that Eclipse isn't but you have to agree that it's something to think about when releasing the DVD! Just hope they don't put the release back till all the hoopla of HP is finished, December time! :(

ReplyDeleteThe release of the Eclipse dvd has very little to do with the release of Harry Potter in theaters. If it were Eclipse hitting theaters than yes they would probably not want to do it at the same time as Harry Potter, but as for dvd release, there's no real difference.
For promtional reasons it's a big thing! Eclipse don't want the release 'eclipsed' (haha, sorry had to) by HP! They will market this as the biggest DVD release of the year & won't want it competing with tv spots with HP!
