Kristen Stewart's Wig Revealed

Kristen Stewart Then

So assuming you've seen either of the The Twilight Saga movies (I'm betting you have), you're familiar with Kristen Stewart's gorgeous flowing brown hair that's quite consistent with Stephenie Meyer's description of Isabella Swan. You may also already know that she traded in that beautiful hair for a chopped black mullet for her role as Joan Jett in her upcoming movie, The Runaways. So as a Twilighter, you had to be thinking, "Surely she's not going to have a black mullet in Eclipse, it wouldn't be Bella, it wouldn't be right." Well, rest assured that she will still have long brown hair, but it's definitely not the same because it's not her hair.

Kristen Stewart's Wig

Photos have been popping up all over the place from the Eclipse shoot and a few of them showcase the wig that will be atop KStew's head for the next film in The Twilight Saga. When comparing the wig to Kristen's natural hair, it's just too obviously fake. Many fans seemed to be upset by the haircut Stewart so boldly took on in the first place, but this just feels like adding insult to injury. After the great work that was done with Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene, and Nikki Reed's wigs, it's almost disappointing to see these photos. It forces you to think back to the pre-mullet KStew days. You would think that, with the explosive nature of The Twilight Saga thus far, Kristen may have considered wearing a wig for her role in The Runaways rather than changing something that was so fitting to her character for such a huge project.

Kristen Stewart Changes

This is, of course, not to say that you and I (and the myriad of Twilight fans out there) won't still love the movie. We'll all go see it multiple times just like we've done with New Moon, but it's just kind of heartbreaking to feel so disappointed about something that had been such a strong area for this group. Most fans didn't even know wigs were used in Twilight until it was brought up in interviews with the cast. It would have been nice to see Kristen with her natural look, the pretty brown hair that many Twilight fans miss so much.

What do you guys think? Should Kristen Stewart have been required to maintain her appearance until The Twilight Saga was completely done being filmed, or do you think the wig looks good?

  1. She should have been contracted to not change her look. A wig just isn't gonna do it for me!

  2. It would be plain redicluous & narrow-sighted for anyone to suggest Kristen should've been required to keep her hair long because of Twilight. I love the movies, but she has a career that exists outside of them.

Extentions might have looked better. They didn't look bad in the Harper's shoot and those were only slipped in for a day, so if the hairdressers had worked at it they could have come up with something more convincing that that Eclipse wig.

  3. Yes i do believe she shoulda kept her hair. The wig looks absolutely AWFUL.

  4. Sure the wig looks fake. But why should she be forced to wear a fake looking wig for The Runaways instead? There she is portraying an ACTUAL person, so having real looking hair, in my opinion, is more important.

  5. I would have voted for extensions and to color her natural hair in the right color again... Wigs tend to look fake... In NM u could see the wigs so clearly on Nikki, Ashley and Jackson. But Jacobs wig was amazing!

  7. She has worn hair pieces in both films to fill out her hair and make it longer, this wil be know different. The wigstress knows the whole focus is on Bella its their job to fullfill that look completly so no im not worried as shes going through a pesonal transformation in Eclipse and then BD and a slightly different look can only benefit. Dont forget shes getting older and more confident and ofcource not the same girl who moved to Forks in the begginning.

  8. So a lot of you don't like the look of the wigs in all the films. What do you think the problem is there... it shouldn't be a budget problem considering their budgets has only skyrocketed, I just thought the hairpiece could have been of better quality than it was especially for Bella, the main character who's going to have a lot of central focus on her.

  9. Personally, I think the wig looks ridiculous. But good on her for refusing extensions.

  10. Of course she should have been contracted to keep her appearance. Rob was told that he was not allowed to cut his hair and the same should have been said for her and the rest of the crew until the Twilight saga films were finished. The wig looks ridiculously fake and beyond hideous in the pictures that I have seen so far and I only hope that it is only photo error and that that will not be the case in production viewing. And as for the hair extension comment, it is one look to have some extensions it is another to have a wig where you can see her real hair line because the wig is not placed on properly.
I think that they should have just added tons and tons of extensions into her Joan Jett style hair to not have the wig issues and to have it still look semi realistic.

  11. Seriously I think it does look awful and she should have kept her real hair but she did for a role she so strongly believed in and she wanted it to look real. Not all her career is based on Twilight guys sorry to say. She is NOT really Bella Swan.

  12. Sorry i'm french so if my english is bad...
I think the others actors wear wig too (Nikki Reed, Ashley Green) and that wasn't bad.. So maybe Kristen's wig will be good in Eclipse...

  13. I don't see much difference, but I don't have a trained eye (nor the best eyes). lol I think people need to get over their invasive weird shit and figure it out that whatever any o9f the cast members do is their own business and their own life and the only thing that's really the business of the audience is the movies. Stalkers and paparazzi need to get a damn life. Losers...

  14. I think the wig looks fine...

  15. yeah, im not a fan of the new wig, but maybe when they are editing the movie they can blend it a bit. i just cant wait the 191 days, 19 hours and 23 minuets until Eclipse!!!!!

  16. I've heard that they wouldn't let Rob cut his hair, and I've heard that they told the rest of the Cullens to stay pale (hence some tweets of Peter Facinelli from his daughter's soccer games over summer with him in a parka in 90-degree weather), so they could have asked her to not cut her hair. But, they also could have used a more realistic looking wig and/or extensions.

  17. I dnt like it . -__________________________- They culda put extensions in it . Ugh it just loooks too fake . Im angry lool

  18. Why didn't someone think to remove the black color and put extensions in her own hair? Any decent hair designer could have taken care of that. Too late now but I seriously doubt her hair will be long enough for Breaking Dawn so I "hope" someone grows a brain and does it right next time.

  19. The real hair looks, better if she wanted a mullet y didnt' she get a wig 4 that?

    ReplyDelete
  20. agree with the last statement. shes ruined her hair completely, and now made bella look awful with that wig

    ReplyDelete
  21. It's ugly and you can tell it's fake, should have used a wig for the mullet instead.

  22. Well we won't know until the movie comes out, will we?!
If the wig she wears looks real or fake.

Maybe she was having bad hair days when these pictures were taken. But i think in these pictures it look fake and i don't like it. But the picture from eclipse {you know that one where Bella and Edward are in the meddow} her hair looks real.

I don't judge anything until I see it with my own eyes. And I don't think any of you should either.

As far as a contract to keep her hair the same old BELLA way. Maybe she wanted a change. And get into charactor for her role as Joan Jett instead of the day she started playing Joan Jett because, yeah, they get there wigs the same day the start filming. You don't know what she was thinking when she went to get her hair cut for her Joan Jett role. You don't. So don't judge her on her hair chose.

Goodness. How would you like it when you went to get your hair cut and the next day everyone was saying "Oh she/he looks stupid" You wouldn't like it would you?

Just imagine that but 100 percent more magnified when all you wanted to do was change your look and get into a role.

    Peace,
    ~*~Mary~*~

  23. She needed to keep her real hair, the wig is awful. I hope that maybee its just the picture, & that in the movie it will look better.
I hate her hair now, hate it.

  24. The movie is going to come out with or without the hair. In this case as a hair stylist i would have recommended that the studio pay to put extentions in her hair. The hair is not that short, so it's perfect length for extentions. I don't think it was a smart idea for her to chop off her hair, but if there was no choice i'm pretty sure they could afford something better than the wig shown above. Maintain you're hair if your gonna cut it off or else it just looks sloppy and like you don't put effort to your appearance.

  25. I thinks he shouldnt have been able to cut her hair the wig looks horrible!! She needs to get extentions or something because her hair is going to ruin it

    ReplyDelete
  26. I don't think there's anything wrong with her hair. I really like it. And I don't think that anyone can tell her what to do with her hair. No one has that right. It was her choice to change her hair for the role of Joan Jett and, as fans, we have to respect her decision and it shouldn't change our views on the movie.

  27. Who Cares? its a movie i lvoe twilight and im obsessed but its her choice she cant just do that not cut her hair when she was offered a movie and being a main caracter i dont care how fake the hair looks it will still be bella
