  2. I almost pee'd my pants in waiting for New Moon and then Eclipse comes out so soon after. I was a kid in a candy store reading all the blog sites. But stepheniemeyer.com is a pretty good site for the general stuff, then you got coolcrappystuff.com for the cheaper stuff and then i guess you can go to any of the other websites on stephs site to see where the twilight action is at. But im soooooooo looking forward to seeing this. We have already bought our tickets for the midnight showing. its going to be good!

  7. I totally agree with Ana. The movie lacked depth; the plot moved too quickly; important scenes were either left out or portrayed inadequately (the campfire, Bella figuring it out, Bella's vision of her future with Jacob, "the talk" at the end between Jacob and Bella, and THE ENDING!!! HELLOOOO! Jacob is supposed to run away!) The acting was good. Charlie was awesome (as always) and the fights were incredible, but it missed the emotional connection.

  8. I was so disappointed with Eclipse. People pick on the first Twilight movie because of it's low budget special effects but it delivered the romance, depth, and suspense and was true to the characters. New Moon was dramatic and entertaining for me and I loved the music. I also liked it because it stayed true to the book. Eclipse fell flat for me. Hardly any music and it just dragged on with boring dialogue. The scenes I was looking forward most to also fell flat. It needed to focus more on Edward being the true love of Bella's life and their romantic connection. I don't want to switch to team Jacob!

  10. it was so fake? did you see that punch in the face? fake! ugh, you would think he would at least flinched or something he stood there like a fricken block! ...And the tent sene! it was horrible.. that set was amazingly fake! and the green screen was so noticealbe im suppriseed i didnt scream " did you see that green screen make him look like he's running fast? i did!" its was all around fake. good movie. good point to it. it just wasnt as good as the first two. This movie moved to fast. I mean I laughed of corse at the sex talk but.. it just was not what i thought it would be. Eclipse was my favorite book out of the seriese and right now, sadly NewMoon is my favortte movie though it was my least favorite book. And i was waiting for bella to say " how are you feeling?" and jacob to reply " a little stoned. Dr. Fang isn't sure how much pain medication i need" I wanted to hear him say he was stoned.

  11. Ok. I like a good, no-brainer, teen love movie as much as the next person, but I was VERY disappointed in Eclipse. Please, I implore you, please read the book (or even better, the entire Twilight Saga series, including Bree Tanner's story - released in June, 2010). If you are a true "Twi-hard", then you will understand my lack of enthusiasm for Eclipse. From the movie’s beginning, the story seemed to be pieced together. I imagine this was an attempt to be as inclusive as possible regarding the written story, but the translation from book to screen is bumpy and choppy, and basically felt rushed.

Now, now, I know...there is a certain amount of time allocated for the big screen addition (126 minutes to be exact); however, it is strictly my opinion (because we all have one) that Chris Weitz's directorial efforts were much, much better in New Moon than the current Eclipse director's translation. I just wish the movie would have followed the dialogue more closely.

For those who are strictly into the theatrical adaptation, I would say the movie is okay, but - as stated above - please, for the benefit of the series (and your entertainment and literary enlightenment) please read the books.

I think that Taylor Lautner is becoming a stronger actor and is convincing as Jacob – as well as Robert Paterson as Edward, but I’m disappointed in the low acting range of Kristen Stewart, who I know can do a much better job at showing emotional depth (Adventureland was okay).

I would have loved to have seen less kissing and more of the Cullens! And what’s was up with Bella’s engagement ring; THAT is not how it is described – by no means. Oh…why bother complaining?!

Although I will definitely see the final two installments of the Twilight Saga (Breaking Dawn 1 and 2), I am left feeling so deflated that I will now re-read the entire Twilight Saga series again – for the 4th time.

  12. i was a little bit disappointed myself. don't get me wrong, i'm a huge twilight fan, and i'm sure i'll see it another 3 or 4 times in theaters and not to mention buy it when it comes out, but it didn't live up to my expectations. the first half of the movie dragged on, and it seemed too rushed. important scenes were left out, and it didn't follow the book nearly as close as new moon did. it seemed like things that were not described in the book, such as the cullens and werewolves fighting the vampire army, were more focused on and in depth than very important parts to the story line. i feel like there were a lot of gaps in this movie, it was just pieced together terribly. they definitely should have stuck with the same director that they had for new moon. eclipse is probably my favorite book, but the movie doesn't do it justice. once again, the movie was good. it had some great fighting scenes, and the love scenes were good too, but so much was missed. what happened to seeing bellas wedding dress, and alice discovering she gets to be the maid of honor, and as someone else pointed out, jacob is supposed to phase and run away at the end after receiving the wedding invitation. love it simply because it's twilight, but it could have been much better. hopefully the fourth one will not be as disappointing. anxious to see how they portray the imprinting and the fastly aging child.

  13. im dissapointed to. it was rushed and maybe and little to comical. did anyone noticed that they repeated rosiles story from the first twilight. about how she changed. really dissapointed!!!

  14. i hate to talk negatively about anything Twilight, but I'm glad I'm not the only one who was disappointed in Eclipse. I hope the director or screen writer of Breaking Dawn will stay true to the book and not rush through the IMPORTANT scenes!

  15. the movie is good but the books are far better. probably because they only have two hours to tell 620 pages of story in. helpful hint.... the less you remember from the book the happier you will be. 4 mjor love scenes between edward and bella in the book and only 1 intense one in the movie. like i said the less you remember about edward and bella the happier you'll be with the movie.

  16. my bad.... perhaps it is kristen stewart who is unwilling to receive the rob tongue which is why he never uses it... rob tell us you know yow to french kiss!!

  17. lol@kissing...he kisses like that, cos he's trying to portray how difficult it is kissing here, without killing her!

  18. I also am a twilight lover, and was really disappointed in Eclipse. Edward looked mad and depressed most of the movie, and was totally unlikeable. This is hard for me to say as I love Edward! I didn't feel a connection between Bella and Edward at all. Kristen and Robert loafed through the most intense scenes. Jacob was the more likeable character.( I can't believe I'm saying that!!) Also, Eclipse seemed sloppily made with terrible wigs, sloppy ill-fitting clothes, and way too thick on the white make-up. I know the vampires should be pale, but do they have to look freakish? The first movie at least had emotional depth. New Moon and Eclipse lacked this. Is this a function of having a male director vs. a female one? All I can say, is Bill Condon better not leave us dissapointed on Isle Esme!!

  19. Hello.. anyone hating this movie is on crack. they spent 75 million making it and it was GOOD. The effects where intense. (nothing like the trailer for harry potter) but they spent like 150 million on that one. but still , it followed the book pretty damn well.

  20. I was disappointed. Eclipse was my favourite book in the series and I had high hopes for the movie but I failed to fall in-love with it. Scenes were too fast paced, the hair and make-up were terrible, especially Jsspers. I so wanted to see when Edward bribes Alice with the car she wanted to keep bella hostage and away from jacob, or when Bella first discovers the bed in Edwards room when he is away. And as someone mentioned above, Alice showing bella her wedding dress and Bella asking Alice to be maid of honour. The whole party scene was just wrong for me as was when Bella runs off with Jacob on the motorbike or at the Quillettes meeting, the tent scene was one of my favourite parts of the book but in the movie it was a big fat FAIL!!! And finally the ending was missing Jacob running away. Maybe it is because I read Eclipse again before watching the movie, why it has failed to make an impact as the previous two Twiliht movies had, I will watch it again when it comes out on DVD to test that theory.

Overall a 5 out of 10 for me which is a shame as I enjoyed David Slade's previous movie (30 Days of Night) and really thought he would be able to deliver on Eclipse, but I do not hold him solely responsible.

  21. I'm a huge fan and I was really dissapointed with Eclipse. What happened to the chemistry between Kristen and Rob? and between Kristen and Taylor it wasn't there at all! they rushed through so many scenes I was looking forward too! they changed the ending and what was up with Bella's hair?! The wig was AWFUL! so fake looking, and Edward had so much make up on you could almost see it, plus he's developed wrinkles in his forehead! Eclipse was my favourite book and I was so disapointed after coming out of the movie, I even went back to watch it a second time (I thought maybe it would improve, but no) I LOVED New Moon, esp the friendship between Bella and Jacob and all their scenes (and I'm Team Edward) but Eclipse was a huge dissapointment, they better fix it for Breaking Dawn!!

  22. "Also, Eclipse seemed sloppily made with terrible wigs, sloppy ill-fitting clothes, and way too thick on the white make-up. I know the vampires should be pale, but do they have to look freakish?" Totally agree with this comment - they need to sack whatever make-up department they used - and this comment is coming from a HUGE fan, I've read the booked millions of times, own the dvds and Bree Tanner novella. I'm not a Twi Hater but I was SO DISSAPOINTED, they lost the Twilight magic :( They better make us proud of the next one!

  23. after the sixth and seventh viewing.... or just forget about the book version... just go and look at rob..... then the disappointment fades. TRUST me on this. stare at rob long enough and it's worth it.

  24. it's rosenberg's writing that is disappointing you. that and they can only put so much into 2 hours so they change things up. don't expect too much going into breaking dawn. she will disappoint you

  26. I like eclipse but not to much because they left important things out of the movie. The actitude that the characters have is totally different than the book. The scene of bella and jacob at the end was horrible. In the book i cried and in the movie i was like what the hell? I likenew moon better because they were loyal to the book and didnt left anything out. Chris weizt should have direct eclipse...
    Ps team jacob

  27. I guess I am coming rather late to the party. I waited until the video release to watch this movie because, given Slade's reputation and the films he had previously directed, I had low expectations. I hoped he would surprise me--he didn't.

I agree with the other posters. The script was leaden, the pacing was wrong. The scriptwriter chose the wrong scenes to adapt from the novel. The script destroyed any romantic tension in the relationship between Edward and Bella by having them moon over each other in almost every scene--including their very first scene of the movie. In general the film alternated so abruptly between violent scenes and romantic ones that the viewer could hardly appreciate either. The lighting and makeup were wretched. The music (what there was of it) was badly chosen.

One could sense how uncomfortable the actors were in delivering some of the wretched lines they were handed by the scriptwriter. It was actually embarrassing to watch.
