Twilight inspiring TV?

Now I am not as clueless to believe that Twilight was the first vampire film, but it would seem that ever since the Twilight series has exploded into one of the biggest movie series in history, many television and movie producers have wanted a piece of the action. This time of year is especially easy to make "spoofs" and other versions of vampire and werewolf characters. The recent release of the movie "Vampires Suck" is a prime example. Hey, if you can't get a piece of the Twilight pie, why not make a movie making fun of it?! People still go see it. The Vampire Diaries, a television series, also depicts the lives of teenage vampires. Another show just brought to my attention the success of the vampire shows have is none other than CSI. Now I personally used to watch CSI until they let go two of the major actors: Grissom and Warrick. I haven't watched a single episode since, until last Thursday. Now, I am also a huge fan of The Young and the Restless. When I saw that two of the stars from Y&R were to be guest starring on CSI, I couldn't resist. This particular episode is about vampires and werewolves! It focuses on the hate between the two groups. I couldn't help but think about Edward and Jacob. Two different worlds, two different looks, two different people. Of course, the vampires and werewolves in this show are killers and our Jacob and Edward are not. It was just interesting to me that all of the hype built by the Twilight films has made so many shows popular and possibly boosted ratings because those shows wanted a piece of the vampire action. Stay tuned to see which shows use it next!!
