Bill Condon Isn't Sure If Breaking Dawn Will Be PG-13

Today has already been filled with such great Breaking Dawn promo, you wouldn't think it could get any better, but I believe it has. A lot of die hard fans realize that it would be almost impossible to properly portray this last book without making the movie rated R.

This has been a major concern in keeping in tune with the book and we all know if there is one movie they have to get right, this one is the one. According to this interview with director Bill Condon, they are not sure of the rating yet. This has been a controversial subject since the beginning because a HUGE part of the Twilight fan base are a younger audience.

My question for you is...if it were your child, would you keep them from seeing this because of the rating or would you let this one slide because its an end to something so big?

  1. I will definitely let my 13 yr old see the movie if it is rate R. We have both read the books and I will be with her. The books are amazing and if it means making the movie rated R to keep to the story, then by all means go for it.

  2. The only part that would have a problem would be the birth scene. In the book the sex scenes fade to black. Considering how much we gripe on the movie needing to be like the book, that's one part that would have no problem!

  3. Exactly...I feel there is NO WAY around an R rating to make this what it should be. We have all dedicated so much to this story and it needs to be done right. My opinion...if you let your kids read it, then why would watching it be a bigger deal?

  4. I don't understand why everybody thinks it has to be rated R. Anonymous is right the book never actually discribes them having sex and to me the brith scene was Jacob focusing on keeping Bella alive and Edward zooming around them doing his part, yes Jacob mentions blood but that doesn't mean you have to SEE it.

  5. Well its not really the sex part for me...but the birth scene is described as gruesome...they could pull it off I guess but they would be walking a fine fine line to do it

  6. We allready know that the movie is going to show the headboard breaking scene, so I won't be letting my 9 year old see the movie with me. I only let her read the fisrt 2 books. She cried when I told her she couldn't see the next movie, but that life. I'm still happy that they're not leaving anything out. I hope the movie is tottaly true to the book.

  8. If they decide to make it pg13 or R You can not please everyone. Leave true to the book. If that calls for making it rated R than do it. I love the books and it would be nice to see a good representation of the last book in the movie.
