Looking out the window, Bella searches the white sand for Edward's perfect features and sees his clothes hanging on a nearby tree. (the excitement builds!) Bella sure does take her precious time getting out there to him, looking in the mirror, looking in her suitcase for something to wear (which certainly will not matter to Edward), brushing her teeth, shaving her legs, stall stall stall. Deciding to go out in just a towel, excellent choice. Seeing the confidence that overcomes Bella as she undresses to find Edward in the water, is something. She, after all, is a Cullen now. Scene ends with Edward taking Bella slowly out to deeper water....
Waking up the next morning, happier than ever, Bella finds Edward in a fowl mood. After some prying and confusion, Bella finally realizes that Edward's bad mood has little to do with how he feels about her and a lot to do with her physical appearance. Even with the bruises, Bella is in a euphoric state and even more in love with her perfect husband. Edward, astonished as he was that she was taking this so lightly, had to argue for a few minutes so Bella would understand the gravity of the situation. I, personally, was on Bella's side of this, noting that she was so unbelievably happy and in love and he was ruining her moment. Looking at the feathers was enough for me! Eventually Edward comes around that he is hurting Bella by acting as if the experience was not pleasurable.
Then comes the distractions: Edward tries in every way possible to distract/tire Bella out for the next few days by going on excursions and eating wonderful food (mostly eggs) that he learned to cook from the Food Network. But Bella is no dummy! She caught on to Edward's game early on. Still trying to convince him to try again with the love making. It all worked when Bella awakes from a dream crying and Edward could not resist comforting her.... The only casualties from this episode were her nightgown and the headboard (ahhh the headboard, the best part of this scene). I was glad to see that Edward finally came around to loving his human wife, the way she wanted to be loved. I do think it is funny that stereotypically, the way of this was wrong. The man is usually the one that cannot wait for this moment and the woman is usually the level headed of the two. I guess Edward's age and plain fear of hurting the woman he loves kept him from being a typical male. More sex, lots of sleep and food, and a few days later, Bella awakens from her crazy dreams of a baby boy being terrified of the Volturi, to find a note from Edward saying he was hunting and would be back soon. Bella, being the hungry human again, went to the kitchen to fix something to eat...chicken this time. After tasting it, she became sick, thinking food poisoning. While throwing up, Edward returns, wanting Bella to go see a doctor. Suddenly, Bella counts days on her fingers, searches the suitcase and finds sanitary products that haven't been used, and comes to a shocking realization......
