'Twilight' Too Naughty for Peter Facinelli & Family?

Peter Facinelli and Rob PattinsonE!Online had a chat Sunday with Peter Facinelli and his wife Jenni Garth about the Twilight Saga. Peter says he think it would be wise to do Breaking Dawn in two movies and that their kids are not allowed to read the last two Twilight books (Eclipse and Breaking Dawn) because they are too racy:

As Marc Malkin revealed in his latest video blog, Peter kept his lips zipped when it came to any news of splitting Breaking Dawn into two movies, shrugging it off by saying no scripts had been written yet.

"It's a very thick book. I think that two movies would be a good thing for the franchise. I support it, but ultimately it's up to what Summit decides," Peter chatted, though he seemed to pick his words very carefully.

"I'm having a great time with the franchise, so if we get to do two more that would be fun."

We're thinking Peter is more interested in two Dawns being a good thing for his bank account. And with the amount of money these flicks have pouring in, we can't blame the sweet dude for wanting to double his paycheck.

While B.D. may still be far off, Eclipse is coming up soon, and Peter seems to think it's quite a bit more exciting than that New Moon bore.

"The battle in Eclipse was superfun. We got to do a lot of fight training and choreography, and I'm looking forward to the fans seeing that. They get to see the Cullens in a way they've never seen them before," the star mysterious teased.

Peter was proud to boast of his stunt work too, claiming, "I tried to do as much as I could, or as much as they allowed me to do. If I didn't go home with a bruise, I didn't feel like I put in a good day's work."

We're sure Pete's wife and kids weren't as thrilled to see his daily beatings. Speaking of his mucho adorable fam, Peter told us that The Cat in the Hat was one of his fave books to read to his daughter, and that he loved to make his little princesses laugh.

When we brought up the Twilight franchise, Peter told us "Well my 12-year-old has read the first two for sure." And Jennie quickly chimed in: "But that's it!"

Do the Facinelli parents think the series is too racy for tweens? Seems so! We asked if the couple thought the much-talked-about fourth book was too naughty, and Jennie, who was only half listening as she cuddled and kissed her youngest daughter Fiona, turned to me and blurted "Yeah!"

"I got to spread them out. Let her get old enough to read the other two. I think I would let her read the third one though when she hits 13 for sure," Peter confessed.

We say better she reads the somewhat-controversial conclusion to the series than have to suffer through another screening of New Moon.

  1. Exually I agree with him. That two bocks is not for little kids, I'm just a teenager (15) too, but I'm not little any more. My sister just today finished Eclipse, and she's 13. ;D

  2. I disagree. I am 12 and have read all the books. I'm pretty sure that my age and up would be ok to read all the books. But I also think that you should be older to see Breaking dawn. But that depends on what they have decided to rate it.

  3. Every parent has a different way of raising their children, some go by the guidelines, of what the movies, books and video games are rated. Others say, "i will watch/read/play it first and decided, and of course do internet research. Personally i read all the books at 16(now I'm 17) some parts are a little to detailed, but that's what makes a good book, i don't think that summit entertainment, should have to pick sides, of whats to "grown-up" and whats not, there is a simple solution, when eclipse and breaking dawn come out to DVD, have a special, everyone can watch edition, a long with what played in the theaters. I really do think everyone would be happy if this were to happen, it just needs to be passed a long to summit entertainment ....

  4. Each child is different as is each parent's method. I for instance read everything before my daughter is allowed to read them. If I feel that the book is to "old" for her then I don't allow her to read it. The same thing with movies. I go and watch it and if I think it's appropriate then I will take her to see it. Summit's only concern should be keeping the story line as close to the books as possible, after that it falls on the parents. My sixteen and fifteen year old have read all four books. My fourteen year old was allowed to read Eclipse and not Breaking Dawn. It isn't that I feel it is to racy just that I don't feel she has reached a maturity level that will allow her to comprehend the book correctly.

  5. The Twilight saga is not "naughty" or detailed at all in my opinion. Stephenie is very breif about the honeymoon in Breaking Dawn. I myself read fanfiction, which makes Breaking Dawn seem like a SAINT. I know people that read the whole saga when they were 12, I would say that people mature at different ages so for some people, the Twilight saga is not too mature for them.

  6. I would agree when Breakind Dawn would be with detailed honeymoon..but it's not so.If it's because of the "hot" scens then, Nowadays 'kids' UNDER 10 knows detailes of sex for an example, They also drink and smoke (and facts say that common age for losing virginty is 13-14,butyeah, whatever, do what you want to do)
Oh, and one 11 thinks that twilight is boring
