Rosalie?!?

Like many of you I have read the books and seen the movies of Twilight. I've never been a fan of Rosalie Hale. However, after reading and seeing Eclipse I realized I never took the time to see why she is the way she is. Sure, she has an attitude problem and seems to despise Bella greatly. Of course, she was raped, left in the street and Carlisle saved her. I'm really glad the writers of the movie decided to add the part where she talks about being "frozen and never moving forward." It would be nice to never age, be with your soul mate forever and never have to worry about getting cancer or any kind of sickness. However, you can't move forward with the company you work for and you can't stay in one place for several years. I wrote this as an example to show how sometimes we are too quick to judge people by the way they act or look. What is your opinion on the character Rosalie?

  2. I think after Eclipse and Breaking Dawn a lot of ppl could identify with Rose I think everybody wants something they can't have and looks and people who have it and take it for granted or could have it and choose not to, or something as simple as having the life style you always dreamed of then losing your job and not being able to have that lifestyle anymore. I felt they did a good job with Rose's story except I wish they'd of left in the part about how she was very carefull to kill her attackers without spilling their blood so she wouldn't lose control, and also about how even though her friend was of a lower class her she was jelouse of her because she had a loving husband and baby. She always came off as a bit superficial in the first two books/movies but that part of the story showed what she really cares about.

  3. I loved Rosalie. Her pain and misery with not being able to have the one thing she so desperatly wanted. It s easy to understand why she would appear to hate Bella. Eclipse was her time to shine and share her past, the same with Jasper. Their time to give their backgrounds, so readers could undderstand them and know more about them.

  4. I'm a huge fan of twilight, and I love all the characters, of course my favourite is Edward, but they are all so different which is why twilight has such a large audience, there is something for every one.I can't wait until breaking dawn comes out, would love to see Rosalie be the perfect auntie as she can't have children herself, she can shine,I love twilight and I will be sad when its over, just hope something just as good is in the pipelinex

  5. I'm glad that her character is present in the series, but I don't like her. Did she care that Bella might die if she had a baby? No. All she cared about was the fact that she might be able to care for a child. Hell, if Bella died, I'm sure Rosalie would have gotten over it very quickly, spending more time with the child than she initially could have. Yes, Bella didn't die and the child lived so Rosalie is happy but her blatant disregard for Bella's health was disgusting.

  6. I agree with the comment above. Rosalie doesn't care about Bella. Just the child. In Breaking Dawn, she even got annoyed that Renesmee wanted to see Bella. I mean, it's Bella's baby, not hers!

I gained a tiny bit of respect for her in Eclipse, but that's it.

  7. I'm probably the weird one here, but I am Team Rosalie. I felt from the begining that she was misunderstood. Yes she does have some superficial qualities, but Eclipse shows her "human" side long after she is a vampire. She harbors feelings of regret and says it best when she says "if we had happy endings, we'd all be under gravestones now". She is vulnerable as she tells Bella her story and I think that created a unique bond between them(hence the reason Bella calls Rose when she and Edward leave Island Esme). Bella finally understands why Rose is the she is. She is flabbergasted that Rose, as beautiful as she is, is jealous of plain old Bella. I think in BD, it's not that she has blatant disregard for Bella's life, but that she is excited that she will get to be a part (however big or small)of Bella's miricle baby. She wants to protect the one thing she could never have...a baby. The fact the she is related to someone who could even have a child, makes her ecstatic, and a little overzealous in Bella's pregnancy journey. I'm glad this was posted. I think it gives people a chance to think about perspective judgement.
