Has "Twilight" Mom Gone Overboard?

I wasn't going to post anymore Devil's Advocate posts, but after an anonymous person posted this on one of my previous posts, I couldn't help myself. The picture above is a mom who is obsessed with The Twilight Series. How much is too much? That is the question today. My question is how does this mom treat her kids? Are they taken care of as much as her Edward posters? What do they think about this?

I really just want to get everyone's opinion in this topic. Twilight Moms have been known ever since the movies came out, but is this much normal?

  1. Well, as a Twilight Mom myself, I don't think she's gone overboard at all! If I was single my room would be the same way, in fact it WAS the same way when I was single, and my son still wanted for NOTHING. He's 16 and is mortified by my obsession, but when it comes to holidays and birthdays, he facilitates it :)

  2. I am also a Twilight Mom, and I see nothing wrong with this woman having a room dedicated to her love for Twilight. I'm a 37yr old, married, mother of 4, and if it was "accepted" in my house then I would have a room similar to this (maybe more subtle). My kids are loved and well taken care of. I'm a mom first, but doesn't mom deserve to have interests and things that she loves, to be a part of her too? It's totally acceptable for people to have an entire room and their wardrobe dedicated to thier fav sports team!!?? Does that make someone a bad parent because they love sports? Surely they must not be taking care of their kids properly if they have other interests! I don't think so.

  4. im 16 and LOVE twilight Alot and would love to have lots of twilight things but i dont and i agree, its perfectly fine to have your room dedicated to something you love like twilight.... but sometimes it can be a bit obsessive if you cover ever inch of your room with it.

  5. I think its super cute that even adults saying 40 love twilight. My mom loves the movies. And she is the only pal that i go with to see the new twilight movies. And when we were going to see Eclipse, she had a Jacob shirt and an Edward bracelet. And i love my mom and the other moms their who like twilight. You guyz are awesome! The more twilight fans the better. <3

  6. I am a twilight mom...Only my kids are grown and out of the house. I think that it is overboard. But, I can't get Edward out of my mind. Love the books and the movies!!!

  7. I LOVE IT!!! I'm a twilight mom and grandma. I'm 43 and have 5 kids and 7 grandkids. My daughter and my 3 year old grandaughter loves the movies and will be in line together for Breaking Dawn. We watch them together everyday and say the movie lines word for word. If my husband wouldn't kill me, my room would probably be worse than hers. I've read the books at least 15 times each and I'm reading Eclipse again right now. So go for it all you Twilight moms. And grandmas!!!

  8. I watch the movies, & play the twilight games with my 19yr old dtr. She also buys me Twilight paraphernalia. I wish I had as much neat stuff as the mom in the picture.

  9. Twi-moms rock! Because I am one :) I am loving the fact that this lady is posing all sexy on her Edward covers ha ha this is too funny...not the fact that she is obsessed but just the picture in itself is HI-Larious! There is nothing wrong with being passionate about something...it shows character and by no means would EVER determine what kind of parent someone is or isn't.

If a Twilight obsession caused someone to neglect a child...well that parent wasn't hitting on much to begin with so we cant really blame it on the obsession just lack of parenting skills

  10. Well, I'm going to go ahead and put my personal opinion..yes, there is nothing wrong with having a passion and this doesn't tell us what kind of parents she is. However, I don't prefer to have this much stuff of anything. It makes my room look crowded and messy. My mom is a Twi-mom for crying out loud, but first we can't afford this type of thing and secondly most people will outgrow things eventually so then you wasted all that money. This is just my personal opinion, so hopefully no one will yell at me again.
